Field notes
How the garden grows.
A patient game about finding the right word. Take your time, or chase the quickening and see how long your fingers can keep pace.
-
01
Plant a new word
Type an English word of three or more letters, then press space or enter. The lexicon holds 9,600 familiar words plus a hand-grown wild-seed collection.
-
02
Each word blooms once
Duplicates are composted. Unknown words and repeats break your flow, scatter golden pollen, and settle your tempo, so variety is always worth more than volume.
-
03
Let your flow grow
Every consecutive fresh word raises your harvest multiplier. A chosen wild seed adds another 25%.
-
04
Keep a fuller garden
Spend petals in the Conservatory on better tools. Dew catchers, honeybees, and golden pollen quietly extend what your garden can do.
-
05
Watch for gold
Every so many hand-typed blooms, the next word turns golden and yields five times the petals. The meter in the glasshouse keeps count.
-
06
Chase the quickening
After a bloom, a small window opens. Plant the next word inside it to raise your tempo bonus; each success shortens the next window toward impossible speeds. Miss it and only the streak resets—nothing already grown is lost.
Your garden is saved in this browser automatically. Dew collectors continue working while you are away once their lantern is lit.
